The year 2010 will be here in a few days. This is a very exciting time for StarChapter. We have met with much success within our target market. StarChapter has helped many local chapters of national professional associations increase revenue, meeting attendance,membership and membership retention all while reducing the amount of time it takes the board members to do their chapter management tasks.
We have added many new features to StarChapter and it has grown into a very mature software platform for chapters to use for many years to come. At its core, StarChapter still focuses on 4 main areas of chapter management. Those are: online meeting registration, content management, email communications and membership management.
StarChapter still goes beyond what normal software companies do to help the local chapter become a StarChapter.

New Designs
While Version 3.0 is in the works for release this summer, StarChapter has designed several new layouts for new and existing clients. They incorporate a wider stance on the screen so more information can be displayed without vertical scrolling and this also accomodates more laptop monitors and wider screens.

History
In 2005, Ryan Felps, founder of ClearVision Internet Solutions created the StarChapter™ Project
to solve a specific problem he was encountering while serving on a local board of a national
organization.
ClearVision has already been developing online custom web and database applications since
1999 so it was a natural step for a solution to be born.
The problems he encountered dealt with meeting registration, and general content management
of the chapter website. The initial code addressed the specific needs of the chapter and the solution
was well received.
Once things progressed, many more features were requested and added to the StarChapter™
code. At this point, several other chapters had signed on for the system and StarChapter™
changed from being a specific solution to a few problems to a full fledged online application.
Since that point StarChapter™ has crossed over into many different associations and continues
to grow in what it provides and in the number of chapters/associations that use it.

Dear Association Managers
I wonder what the association managers really want to spend their time doing. Do they want to do higher level management and tracking or do they want to do the day to day work like updating the website, running meetings and doing newsletters.
Either way StarChapter (www.starchapter.com) can transfer the burdon of newsletter managment and photo archives to the local chapter, or it can provide easy to use tools for the association manager to still keep it in-house.
StarChapter is a tool. Whomever decides to use it really doesn't matter. When it is used, the chapter benefits. It becomes more organized and efficient in communicating to the chapter memebership.

Advantages of online association managment software
Association managment software or 'web based' association managment software offers many advantages. This type of service exists out of the need for associations and local chapters to not only simplify the way they do business, but to also imrove they way the organizations are run.
Saving time. Board members are volunteers and the less time it takes for a local board member of an association to do their 'job' the better. This makes it more likely for the board member to stay on and also easier for the board to recruit new board members.
Communication. Emailing saves the association time and money and when done professionaly and properly, the chapter or organization can increase their membership by converting prospective members and also increase membership retention.
Meeting management. who's coming? who paid and how much? who didn't show? what guests are coming and did we charge the right amount for everyone? sending invoices, running reports? posting meeting detials, etc. all this can be done from an online association managment provider (www.starchapter.com).
